There are two trumpets sounding off in the world today. The first is the cry of the media, ringing out their false claims laced with lies and confusion; creating panic and chaos and making slaves of men to fear and uncertainty. The other is the trumpet of God, the Gospel of truth, that gathers the rallying christians to the banner of the Message of the Cross.
Which of these trumpets would speak to the very depth of you? Which call will you rally to? If it be the first, then you choose to seek safety under the authority of a global leader whose only provision will be a passing semblance of peace. If it be the second, then you will know the sustainable peace of those who serve the only immortal God; the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
Which trumpet are you listening out for? The sounding of the first, the very instrument of the enemy, will be followed by a era of judgement over humanity. The second is an overture to God’s final trumpet call which will gather his chosen ones up in the clouds to be with Jesus forevermore.
Let us stand with the watchmen of the Lord. Let us support them in their endeavour to spread the message of the Cross of Christ. Let us, too, become those watchmen deemed radical and foolish by this world, but considered wise before God. Let us close our ears to the bad news of the world and open them to the Good News of salvation. Let our hearts be closed to all that would seek to make us doubt, and open to all things that would increase our faith.
The devil is no fool: he knows that the key to Man’s defeat is his power over the little, shell-shaped receptors we call ears. He knows that all he has to do is feed them with curiosity and tickle them with flattery. We must protect our ears from the trumpets of false doctrine, which claim to be inspired by God while they eat away at the faith we have built up on the simplicity of the True Gospel. These trumpets would call us to rally away from God, and to give ourselves over to the spirit of the world in all its lustfulness and filth. They would seek to deaden our ears to our divine calling, and rob us of our heavenly inheritance that is to come.
Christians, let us arise and shake off the temptation that has lulled us into sleep. The trumpet of God is calling. Let us answer it in kind. Amen
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
